| Access by Air
The nearest international airport to the Brecon Beacons is located at Rhoose just outside Cardiff. It is approximately one and a half hours drive. There are flights to Cardiff from a number of international airports worldwide. This service is supplemented by cost effective shuttle flights from Schnipol Airport, Amsterdam with several daily link flights connecting Cardiff to all major worldwide airports. Cardiff International Airport There are also excellent high speed rail and coach links to South Wales from Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.
Banks and MoneyMost banks are open from 09.30 to 16.30 Monday to Friday. Credit cards are widely accepted but may not be at the smaller shops and B&Bs. Visitors who will be returning to a country outside the European Union can take advantage of the Retail Export Scheme (often called Tax-free Shopping), whereby you can reclaim VAT (Value Added Tax) on goods purchased for export. |
