The town of Brecon just North of the Brecon Beacons themselves is the centre for the whole area while Crickhowell has a wide range of watering holes in haunted or unhaunted venues, you will be spoilt for choice. Sennybridge, whether it’s Red Kites or the mix of uncompromisingly rugged terrain and stunning scenery you will not be disappointed. Talgarth sits to the north east of Brecon, surrounded by both premium mountain biking and first class outdoor activity centres Talybont on Usk with the Taff Trail and Monmouthshire and Brecon canal passing through Talybont on Usk there are many pubs and a range of accommodation in this charming village giving plenty of overnight options. Hay on Wye is now internationally famous for its books but there is much else besides - crafts, food, arts and even high fashion. Brecon has antiques and outdoor shops; Abergavenny good food; Crickhowell food, furnishings and outdoors; Llandovery arts and crafts. |

May 22 to June 1 2008 Hay Festival of Literature
Hay Festival 2008 takes place in Hay-on-Wye
Hay is a tiny market town in the Brecon Beacons National Park. It has 1300 people and 39 bookshops. For ten days a year 80,000 visitors converge on Hay from all over the world to join in a carnival celebration
of the written word.

23 - 26 July 2008 Royal Welsh Show, Builth Wells
The Royal welsh Agricultural Show is held in July on the permanent showground at Llanelwedd, Builth Wells. It provides a prime shop window for farming in Wales. The show, which runs for four days, attracts
more the 200,000 visitors, over 7000 entries of livestock and over 1000 trade stands.
